11/1/2023 0 Comments Nexomon extinction exp share![]() ![]() If Nexomon 3 improves over Nexomon 2 the same way that 2 improved over 1, it'll be phenomenal. Nexomon really offers something that Pokemon hasn't offered in quite a while a truly immersive single-player RPG experience. There are so many unique concepts they could potentially introduce to break away from the competition of other turn-based-combat games. I was never bored during battles, as they are quite fun, but there's a lot of room for growth there come Nexomon 3. My only real critique of the game is that the battle system is quite superficial apart from the simple type match-ups to memorise, there really isn't that much skill involved. In true RPG style, the game often only left me vague clues about where to turn to next to solve a puzzle, rather than just telling me to proceed from point A to point B only to teleport me straight to point B anyway (like a certain other franchise has taken to doing as of late). It's been a good while since Pokemon other games made me stop and think like that. On the note of difficulty, I like that the game offers very real challenge at no point did I feel the task at hand was impossible ( except that final boss battle, before I realised I was supposed to lose) but the challenge was never trivial either and always required conscientious effort. The difficulty and level scaling strikes a really neat balance (after a particularly shaky start when the game was first released before being patched). Even though the main story is over, there are now still a tonne of Legendary Nexomon to hunt down, and the Pokédex Database to complete! The Shard-mining system in particular has keep me occupied for quite a few hours as I wanted to craft those precious Cores. I adore how much there is to do in this game. The dialogue is really fun, and I like how the game has regular moments of self-awareness (though I can see how others might find it annoying or immersion-breaking, but I like how much Nexomon feels like an open love letter to other RPG franchises). ![]() Well paced, cool characters, interesting mythology, complex villain with compelling motivations, unexpected plot twist! Those final few boss battles were no joke.Īs far as story is concerned, Nexomon Extinction beats the absolute hell out of anything that Pokemon has had to offer for a good long time now.
